Clarity for modern newsrooms
Traffic is a web-based newsroom production workflow platform I am developing to improve visibility across scripting, filming, editing and multi-platform publication.
It is a personal project inspired by two decades of leading live and cross-platform editorial teams.
Why I’m Building This
Across international newsrooms, I’ve consistently seen the same challenge:
We are highly skilled at breaking news, but often less structured in how stories move between teams and platforms.
Handovers between editorial, production and publishing can become fragmented — especially across time zones and formats.
Traffic is an attempt to model a clearer, digital-first workflow.

What Traffic Aims To Address
-
Story status visibility from script to publication
-
Cross-platform production tracking (radio, TV, digital, social)
-
Workflow bottleneck awareness
-
Managerial insight into production timelines
-
Reduced reliance on printed rundowns and paper-based tracking
Shaping It Through Experience
Traffic is not publicly launched.
I’m currently refining the concept and would value insights from newsroom professionals.
Where does production flow break down in your experience?
What would make cross-platform coordination easier?
